Essays, moral and political were incorporated into Essays and treatises on several subjects (London, 1753-6) 4 vols. 12mo. In both the 1777 and 1788 edition of Essays and treatises on several subjects (Godwin owned the latter) ‘Essays, Pt I' would be Vol. I Containing essays, moral political and literary. ‘Pt. I, Essays 2, 3, 4' would be ‘Of the liberty of the press,' ‘That politics may be reduced to a science,' and ‘Of the first principles of government.'
